While driving life’s car,
I’ve driven in circles.
I’ve taken wrong turns.
I’ve spun my wheels.
I’ve crashed and burned.
But wait!
I look to my right,
And what do I find?
God riding shotgun,
Right by my side.
Perhaps the All-knowing
Should guide this ride.
He knows the objective.
He knows the stride.
What do you say?
Will you provide?
I’d be happy to help.
I’d be happy to guide.
Please tell the way.
Please run the show.
Take the next right.
That’s all you should know.
What comes next?
What’s after that?
Show me the map.
Where are we at?
I won’t tell you more
Than the next step.
Here comes the turn.
Brakes, blinker to prep.
I want to know more.
Won’t you tell me?
Why can’t I know
The whole picture you see?
I won’t tell you now.
I know your kind.
You’re too keen on shortcuts.
You’re too keen on time.
But how should I know
If the next step is right?
I suppose you’ll use faith
In place of full sight.
